A new Asus Eee Pc in the horizon

There's a new Asus Eee Pc netbook in the horizon, in fact, this model can already be found in Europe and in the States, so it should arrive in Canada stores in a very near future! I will let you know as soon as these new little beauty hit the stores here!

The next Asus netbook will be the 1101HA. It has a larger 11.6 inch display and a higher screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels than the previous Eee Pcs. He also had a slower Intel Atom processor that clocks in at just 1.33GHz. But one of the best thing about the 1101HA: the 11.6-inch screen has enabled Asus to include a full size keyboard! At the same time, he is bigger and heavier than the previous model:

The difference is about 24 x 18 x 1 mm (width, depth and thickness) if you look at the size and 130 grams if you consider the weight.

The position of the expansion ports, webcam, microphone internal function keys and LED signal is the same on both models, unlike the logo on the lid shows the symbol in the Eee 1005HA-H and the brand in Asus 1101HA .

The keyboard, however, size aside, the differences presented in the form of buttons. The 1005HA is slightly excavated within the 1101HA is completely flat.

New ASUS Eee PC T101 tablet reported?

It seems like the new Asus Eee Pc T101 tablet netbooks models line launch could be pushed back, or even canceled! What's the problem? It looks like the T91 sales aren't going too well, which is not a surprise when you see the prices these netbooks go: who will buy a netbook, even a so-cool one, at the same prices of some very capable true notebooks? Asus should focus on producing fonctionnal AND cheap netbooks. I think you have to stay under the $500 range if you want to reach the netbooks market customers.

Last we had heard, ASUS' Eee PC T101 and T101H tablet still had a place on ASUS' massive Eee PC roadmap, and was on track for a late August / early September release after being pushed back from its original June launch date. According to DigiTimes, however, the device's future now looks to be even more uncertain, with it supposedly set for release this September "at the earliest." Some unspecified "industry sources" further go on to say that that the T101 (and other future ASUS netbook tablets) could either be pushed back further or scaled back on shipments if the company's current Eee PC T91 doesn't meet expectations, or possibly even canceled altogether.

a black Eee Pc 1000HA, the only Asus netbook you can find for less than CDN $400, and a very reliable one with 160Gb hard drive, a really great bargain at that price;

I was taking a look at which Asus Eee Pc Netbooks the online stores has to offer in Canada, and at how much, and I've found two interesting things:

First, Tiger Direct finally isn't the lone "big" player in the Canada Asus netbooks internet world anymore: NewEgg Canada now carries the Asus EeePc line in his store! Hurray! I know they are some others great Canadian Asus resellers on Internet, but these two are major players! Some competition will be welcome here! Because even now in 2009, it's still true that Asus netbooks' prices are not cheap in Canada! This is some great news and maybe prices will go cheaper in the next months. Now if someone could sold these ones on Amazon Canada, it would be perfect!

Then, and it can be that first step in cheaper Asus' CDN prices, I may have found the best Eee Pc deal on internet in Canada, and this is on a great model:

07/13 UPDATE: Sorry folks but this sale has end, it's too late! The only Asus 1008HA I could find for less than CDN $500 now is the Seashell Pearl Blue one, at Newegg Canada, at $494.99! Still a nice deal.

You can find one of the top-of-the-line netbooks, the Asus Eee Pc 1008HA, with his cool "seashell" design :P - seriously, that beast carries a 10.1" 1024x600 screen, an Intel Atom N280 processor with 1GB DDR2 RAM and 160GB Hard drive (learn more on this model here: 1008HA Asus website), for less than CDN $500! I don't know how long it will last but as of today - June 27 - TigerDirect.ca have a discount price on the EeePc 1008 HA and sell it for $479.97, a $192 rebate! I've found anything like this and I think it may be the best quality/price you can find in Canada now.
